Mark Castle

Founded in the late 80’s by owner Mark Castle, Castle Landscape and Gardens brings traditional English styles of gardening to Nantucket. Castle Landscape and Gardens is a small family business focusing on creating beautiful perennial beds, containers and landscapes. This is an owner-operated business, with Mark and Mary Ellen working hands on alongside the crew.

FOUNDER, GARDENER

Growing up in England, Mark discovered the beauty of flowers and gardens at a young age. After moving to the United states, he lived some time in Vermont before finding that Nantucket Island offered the best environment for a career in gardening. Eventually, he started his own business creating and tending traditional English flower beds with the help of his wife Mary Ellen.

CO-OWNER, GARDENER

Growing up on Nantucket, Mary Ellen has since childhood loved planting flowers and vegetables. With a fierce love for Nantucket Island and the trained eye of a painter, she offers expertise in color theory and design to the company.

LANDSCAPING SUPERVISOR

Born and raised in Jamaica, Leroy has been a charasmatic and invaluable presence for nearly 20 years, pictured here with the wonderful Kuhm from Nepal.
